The NX5400 has been designed as a high quality cash register that is feature rich yet very economical. It has been designed as a general purpose machine, the flat keyboard version is ideally suited for use in bars, cafe, quick service restaurants and bakery. The raised keyboard version is particularly suited to general retail stores and has the ability for bar code scanning.

A numeric pop up customer display, heavy duty receipt plus journal printer (45mm wide) and an integral cash drawer all come as standard with the NX5400.

The NX5400 comes network ready, it can be connected with up to 7 other terminals providing consolidated reporting across the entire system. In additional the NX5400 is also PC ready and can be connected to back office PC for simplified programming and reporting.

The NX5400 has been designed as a high quality cash register that is feature rich yet very economical. With a flat keyboard and clerk interrupt facility the NX5400 is ideally suited for use in pubs, bars, cafes, takeaways, bakeries and retail scanning outlets.
With 1,570 PLU's as standard, 21,666 PLU's maximum, 3 menu levels and 2 price levels you can be sure that you won't easily run out of capacity. In addition there are 3 modifier buttons that allow a product to be sold in 4 different sizes e.g. regular, small, medium and large.

The NX5400 comes with a numeric pop up customer display, heavy duty receipt plus journal printer (45mm wide) and an integral cash drawer.

Cash Control
At the end of each shift the financial report clearly identifies the value of money that has been taken by each method of payment - this is used to reconcile against the actual cash in drawer 

Sales Analysis
The NX5400 allows you to monitor your sales mix, products can be linked to 10 main groups (wet, dry etc) and 64 sub groups (Bottle Beer, Draught Beer, Spirits etc). In addition products can be linked to a further 25 groups which could be used to track product sales by supplier. 

Operator Analysis
Individual operator performance (up to 26) can be monitored allowing you to keep an eye on the most productive staff and those making the most " mistakes" . Up to 4 commission rates can be used providing managers with a way of giving incentives to operators.

Scanning
With an optional scanner attached, the NX5400 has the facility to register bar-coded items. Additionally, bar-coded items not found in the PLU database at registration, can be simply created and added to the file. 
 
Promotions
Two % adjustment buttons allow you to run in house promotions and even a simple customer loyalty scheme. The adjustment feature allows you to give a customer a preset % discount of pre selected items.

Automate end of day routines
End of shift/day routines can be simplified by using one of the 4 arrangement buttons which allows you to setup a macro to automate key sequences. 
 
Security
All reports, programming options and sensitive operations are available under key lock control. 
 
Simple food ordering
In a pre payment food operation an order number or table number can be entered with a transaction, orders can be sent to kitchen printers with different products being printed on different kitchen printers. Up to 4 kitchen printers can be used e.g. starter, mains, drink.

Programming Services

SmarterPOS offers programming services for all equipment offered on this site. 

It is important for our customers to understand that the majority of Point of Sale equipment is not plug & play.
For the seasoned retailer or point of sale professional this is probably not a surprise, however it is our policy to set our customers expectations up front and to meet those expectations every time.

Purchasing Point of Sale equipment from smarterPOS will usually require some communications between the customer and our technical support providers.  We always ask for a contact number when making a purchase for this reason.

The following is a good example of a typical transaction or purchase at smarterPOS.

  1. Browse the site and add your product of interest to your shopping cart.
  2. When you are completed shopping click the "check out" button or navigate to the cart window.
  3. Next, enter the shipping information in the form below the cart and click proceed to checkout button.
  4. Click the word 'Add' where it says "Please add comments or explain your programming requirements".  If you are not sure what your programming requirements are, simply enter that you are in need of programming support.
  5. After the order is received a smarterPOS specialist will contact you to discuss your project helping to determine what programming requirements exist.
  6. After requirements are collected you will be presented with a quote for the services if applicable and invoiced for such if providing you agree to the service.

It is not a requirement for our customers to use our programming services, however we do recommend you consider it as this will help to take full advantage of our outstanding, second to none service department.
